¹⁹ The guards at the Temple gates kept out everything that was not consecrated and all unauthorized personnel.

²⁰ Then the army officers, nobles, governors, and all the people escorted the king from the Temple, wending their way from the Upper Gate to the palace, and seated the king upon his throne. ²¹ So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet and peaceful because Queen Athaliah was dead.
